Philanthropy &  Service

Our philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House.

Since 1979 Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). The Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from home” for children seeking intensive medical care and their families. What makes this program so special is that families stay at little to no cost for the duration of the child's treatment and, at most, can make a donation of $25 per day. As the RMH states, "The RMHC Global Policy is that families are never turned away; if it’s not possible to pay, the fee is waived." In their stays, families can experience the comfort of home with homecooked meals, private rooms, and play areas for children.

Alpha Delta Pi is very proud of having a large philanthropic presence and close relationship with the Ronald McDonald House in Birmingham, AL. When the chapter travels to the house, which it does numerous times each semester, sisters bond through cleaning the facilities, helping organize the community pantry, and even preparing dishes for the families. Sometimes our partnership takes us far and beyond the loving walls of the Ronald McDonald House. In the bottom left corner a picture shows sisters at the RMH-sponsored Alabama versus Auburn gymnastic meet. From dressing up as cartoon characters to meeting with alumnae at the RMH table, events like this show the depth and connectedness of our fantastic philanthropy. In addition to our work with the Ronald McDonald House, we also participate in numerous  philanthropic events hosted by many other organizations at the University of Montevallo.

In the 2014-2015 school year, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama awarded Montevallo's ADPi sisterhood with "Alpha Delta Pi Chapter of the Year." Our signature philanthropy event is "Whose Line is it Anyway?," which is our adaptation of the classic comedy show.
